Getting Started with Computing at Mines

Together with the user name assigned to you and/or the Campus Wide ID (CWID, we pronounce it 'quid') sent to you when you were accepted for admission, your EKey unlocks and activates access to various resources and services at Mines.

If you lose, misplace or forget to bring your EKey card, please contact us:

There are three accounts that you should activate:
  1. E-Mail Account: To create and start using your Mines E-Mail account go to http://newuser.mines.edu/email
  2. Trailhead Campus Portal: Create this account to access a variety of administrative and academic services such as your schedule, drop/add, grades, bills, calendar, Blackboard, and other campus services go to http://newuser.mines.edu/trailhead
  3. ADIT (Academic MS Windows): Create this account to use lab machines in the Computing Center, CTLM, the Writing Center, or the library go to http://newuser.mines.edu/adit
